Ridgeline Software LLC ("Ridgeline Software," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you purchase and use Nimivo (the "Software"), how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who We Are

Ridgeline Software LLC is a South Carolina limited liability company and the developer of Nimivo. For the purposes of applicable data protection law (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR"), Ridgeline Software LLC is the data controller of the personal information described in this policy. 2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to sell, deliver, and support your license:

• License and device information: your license key and a per-device instance identifier, generated when you activate the Software on a device. This lets us enforce your license's device limit and validate that your subscription is active.
• Email address: collected by our payment processor (Stripe) at checkout, and used to deliver your license key, send purchase receipts, and send support or renewal-related communications (via our email provider, Resend).
• Payment information: collected and processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number or other payment credentials.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have any access to the contents of your media library. Your movie and TV files, filenames, folder structure, and viewing activity never leave your own NAS or local network. When the Software looks up metadata (titles, artwork, episode information) from TheTVDB or TMDB, it sends only a search term (such as a title and year) through our metadata proxy service — never any personal information about you or the files themselves.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Activate, validate, and enforce your Nimivo license;
• Process your payment and deliver your license key and purchase receipt;
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries;
• Send you service-related communications, such as renewal reminders or notices about failed update attempts;
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of license keys;
• Comply with our legal and tax obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral or advertising profiles.

5. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate Nimivo:

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

6. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (Stripe, Resend, and Cloudflare) are based in or operate infrastructure in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Each of these providers maintains its own safeguards for cross-border data transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses); see their respective privacy policies for details.

7. Data Retention

We retain your license and instance data for as long as your license remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward (up to 24 months) to support renewal, fraud prevention, and our legal and accounting obligations. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 8, subject to those retention needs.

You may contact us at support@ridgelinesoftware.net at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR)

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or erasure of that data; restrict or object to our processing of it; receive a copy of it in a portable format; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Our legal basis for processing your information is performance of our contract with you (license activation, billing) and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and operating our business. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@ridgelinesoftware.net; we will verify your request using the email address associated with your license before responding.

9. Children's Privacy

Nimivo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies and Tracking

This website does not currently use analytics or tracking cookies. If that changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe what is used and why.

11. Security

We rely on industry-standard security practices from our infrastructure providers (Stripe, Cloudflare) and take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
